The Munda Wanga Environmental Park is renowned for the different animals that reside there. The place is also known for its many activities the visitor can participate in.
Location
The park is located at Kafue Rd, Chilanga, Lusaka. You can reach the park by taking a minibus going to Kafue or Chilanga. You can find these at the bus stations. These minibuses are also at the South End Roundabout. The park is located about 16 kilometers to the south of central Lusaka.
What to See
The park has a garden filled with beautiful ponds and shrubs. There is a restaurant and a swimming pool where you can relax. There are also different types of plants. The picnic area is a great place to relax in as well. An education center can be found in the park too. The wildlife center in the Munda Wanga Environmental Park is one of the most popular attractions.
The most visited is the lions enclosure. There you will get a chance to see the lions being fed. The animal enclosures are labeled and list some facts about the creatures kept there.
There are about 300 animals in the park with over 45 species. Some of these were rescued from the outlawed pet trades. Students and tourists may enroll and become volunteers. For many, the opportunity to work in the park is its biggest attraction.
History
The history of the country began with the Northern Rhodesia territory. It was a territory that was being administered by the South Africa Company from 1891 until 1923.
In 1923, the UK took over. Development of the territory accelerated in the 1920s and 1930s, sparking immigration and development. In 1964, the territory was granted independence and was renamed Zambia.
Cost
The entrance fee is K25,000 for adults and K10,000 for children between 2 and 13 years of age. Toddlers under 2 years of age are free to enter. The fee for the picnic area is K5,000.

Aside from the lions, the park also has some cheetahs and black bears. The place also serves as a center for animals that are going to be reintroduced to the wild. Visitors to the site can also check out assorted flora.
