Ngapali Beach in Burma is one of the up and coming tourist attractions in Asia. There are many sightseeing spots in the country, but this is definitely one that is catching the interest of many tourists.
Location
The beach is in Rakhine State. It is 4 miles (7 km) from Thandwe town. You can reach the place by plane or by land. You can also use Yangon Airways or Air Bagan and fly to Thandwe. If driving by car or bus, it will take 16 hours.
What to See
The beach has clear blue waters and white sand. The marine life beneath the waters are also stunning. Aside from swimming, you can also take leisurely strolls on the beach. Extending over 3 kilometers, the beach looks over the Indian Ocean. For many, there is nothing more relaxing than sitting under a palm tree and watching the waves.
You can also go on a boat trip and head to Pearl island. Aside from that, you can also go diving or snorkeling. You can also rent a bicycle and explore the nearby areas. You can also visit Zalat Htone Island and Kinmaw village. The latter is known for their pottery. Thandwe is also known for the hand weaving works of Rakhine longyi.
History
The beach has been in existence for thousands of years. However, the place is not well known due to the political situation in Burma. In recent years however, the country has been stepping up efforts to promote the place.
Ngapali Beach in Burma today has several hotels and resorts nearby. These include the Amazing Ngapali, Amata Resort and Bayview. The word Ngapali does not have any meaning. It is derived from the Italian word napoli (Naples).

There is no entrance fee required to visit the beach.

A golf course has been built near the beach. There is a small village nearby you can visit. It is a good opportunity to meet up with the locals and experience the culture of the people.
