Brief History

The Sun City Resort in North West Province – South Africa is the brainchild of hotel mogul Sol Kerzner. He developed this to be a part of his conglomerate, Sun International.

It was formally opened to the public on the 7th of December in the year 1979.

The complex has seen live performances by popular artists such as Frank Sinatra, Elton John, Queen, Black Sabbath, Rod Stewart, Tina Turner, Dionne Warwick and Sarah Brightman, among many others.

It also hosted several boxing matches until about the early ‘80s.

Cost
